After surviving the devastating 2018 Tathra bushfires, Jo witnessed firsthand how climate impacts and energy decisions affect Australian communities.
As President of Bushfire Survivors for Climate Action, she’s spent years advocating for evidence-based policy that protects both Australian families and our climate. Jo’s experience working with affected communities showed her that Australians need straight talk about energy solutions – not political point-scoring.
This led her to co-found Australians for Affordable Energy, where she works to ensure Australian families have access to clear, honest information about all our energy options.

As a leadership development expert, small business owner, and mother of three, Margo brings both personal understanding of household energy pressures and professional expertise in facilitating constructive dialogue on complex issues.
Throughout her career working with organisations and leaders, she’s seen how the best solutions emerge when people come together for honest, balanced conversations. Margo co-founded Australians for Affordable Energy to create space for meaningful dialogue about Australia’s energy future – moving beyond political rhetoric to focus on practical solutions that work for Australian families and businesses
